Welcome to my World

I’ve always been a reader of anything with the power to drag me somewhere else, sometimes kicking and screaming. Romance, fantasy, suspense, psychological thrillers, mysteries, the occasional book that leaves me staring at the ceiling at 2 a.m. wondering what the hell I just read. I love stories that linger long after the last page—and words that can make you feel something you weren’t expecting to feel.

I’m fascinated by the darker side of human nature. Obsession. Secrets. Revenge. Temptation. The things people want but probably shouldn’t have. Especially when attraction gets involved. And now, I get to write about the places where desire gets dangerous, secrets refuse to stay buried, and the line between right and wrong becomes wonderfully blurred.

Coffee is not a beverage.

It is a personality trait.

Tequila…

It makes me happy (and sometimes I have to drink a personality).

I swear like a sailor

Unapologetically.

My favourite thoughts

Begin with “I wonder if…”

I have

An unreasonable appreciation for morally grey characters.

I prefer

Deep midnight conversations that challenge my thoughts and beliefs to mindless morning small talk.

I will

Judge a book by its cover. I have shelves of books that I bought just because they were pretty (more than I’ll ever admit to).

I believe

In the absolute power of the written word. The right words can fill you with hope, drag you through the mud, break your heart, or make you fall hopelessly in love with someone who doesn’t actually exist.

I dislike

Predictable endings, and people being judged for what they choose to read.

My favourite kind of story

Is the one that makes you question which choice you would have made, and if there was ever, is ever, a “right” choice.

Shannon Leigh
And my favourite kind of reader?

The one who closes the book, sits in silence for a moment, and thinks: Well… that was dark.
Then immediately turns the page looking for more.
